On Saturday 22nd October 2011, Framework invites you to “get on your bike” and help raise money and awareness for local homeless people.

Bike Fest is for cyclists of all ages and abilities and is part of Raise the Roof, a month long music and arts festival, which celebrates 10 years of Framework and raises funds to support Framework’s anniversary appeal.

Bike Fest participants can choose between two routes: a 13 mile ride around the city of Nottingham, mainly on designated cycle-only routes, which is ideal for cyclists of all ages and abilities*. For experienced road cyclists we have a challenging 80 mile route around Nottinghamshire, taking in a number of Framework’s flagship services**. Both rides will start and finish at Framework’s Val Roberts House on Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham.
Bike Fest is an excellent opportunity to do something that is good for you whilst doing something good for other people too.

There is a £20 registration fee for the 80 mile ride but we are relying on all riders raising funds by collecting sponsorship as part of their participation in Bike Fest. Sponsorship raised will be used to help Framework’s tackle homelessness as effectively as possible following dramatic cuts to public funding. Framework’s anniversary appeal will enable the recruitment and training of volunteers, more resources to deliver life skills, training clients where staffing levels do not allow, legal support for people facing eviction without support, and to maintain our ability to work with rough sleepers.

*Riders under the age of 16 years can take part in the 13 mile ride but must be accompanied by an adult.

**All riders on the 80 mile route must be aged 18 or over.

All participants are strongly advised to wear a properly fitting cycling helmet while riding at all times. Please click here to read the terms and conditions of participation
